Researching and formulating the best possible liming products
At Optima Agriculture we like to think that one of the things that sets us apart is our dedication to researching and formulating the best possible liming products and an ability to deliver proven results to our customers. In fact, we don’t want you just to take our word for it. These test cases demonstrate how our scientific approach to liming has delivered measurable results to real life farming operations.

Higher yields and better potatoes
A trial conducted near Pemberton in 2010 was able to demonstrate that the use of our liming products delivered a higher, more profitable yield of better quality potatoes.
By applying CalSap Horticulture to potatoes, the following benefits to the grower can include:
- Increased calcium content in the skin of the tuber
- Decreased harvest and handling damage, therefore improving marketable yield
- Improved yield and storage life
- Improved resistance to soil borne diseases
- Reduced uptake of sodium and chlorides
Positive effects on pasture
A long term pasture trial near Holbrook in New South Wales showed CalSap to outperform 9 other treatments and deliver significantly more dry matter.
- Yield Gains and the Economic Benefits
- Higher gross profit returns from extra production
- Salinity Reduction Results
CalSap increases citrus fruit quality
In 2011 a citrus orchard in Bindoon conducted a trial of CalSap against the traditionally used CalNitrate and found it to dramatically improve the quality of the fruit produced.
Optima delivers yield gains and salinity reduction in irrigated pasture operations
The application of soluble liming products resulted in demonstrated increased yields and profits, while measurably reducing Sodium and Chloride levels in the soil.
